Department of Zoology started its journey in the year 1971. . The department start offering its pre UG level study from the year 1971 and the UG level study was also started from the year 1971. The honours courses of the department started in the year 1994. The teaching staff strength of the department is 3 teacher and one demonstrator.

Departmental Activity

Department of zoology is running a UGC sponsored vocational course on Industrial Fish and Fisheries.Dept arranges educational tours to different parts of the country having Zoological Importance. ( Bandipura National Park, Karnataka; Sasan Gir National Park, Gujarat; Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, Rajasthan; Sundarbon, West Bengal; Nandan kanan, Orissa; Kaziranga National Park, Assam etc.) . The department subscribe 4 monthly journal. One minor research project, the principal investigator is Mr. H. Chakravarty.
